Isle of Wight Festival Hampshire. Apart from DJ’ing at the Hampshire based festival, myself and my partner Kirsty Herring were given the fantastic jobs of photographing Beats & Swing who hosted the intoxicated tea rooms tent for the weekend. Here is a small selection of some of my favourite pictures that we took over the weekend. I don’t do a great deal of event Photography, but when I do its always great fun! We hope to return to the Isle of Wight Festival Hampshire again next year so look out for us!
Isle of Wight Festival Hampshire which offers top rock and indie names, legendary acts, and rising stars, on a large main stage, smaller tented stage, and smaller stages in a relaxed festival atmosphere returned for a 14th year from Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th June 2015. This year marked 45 years since Jimi Hendrix played the festival, and in his honour the main stage will be named ‘The Electric Church’.
Beats & Swing is a club night held in Portsmouth, bringing eclectic and sometimes eccentric guests to town that play alongside local DJ’s, acts and dancers to put on a night that is like nothing else currently on offer in the area. They are invited to host a tent at Victorious Festival Portsmouth each year .Throughout the year they put on events at various venues to include The Wedgewood Rooms, The Edge Of The Wedge,The Eastney Cellars & Victorious Festival to name but a few. The genres are connected with a revival of swing dances like the Lindy hop, the popularity of Neo-Burlesque and the resurgence in an appreciation of vintage fashion and culture in mainstream society, championed by style icons Dita Von Teese and successful television shows like Boardwalk Empire.
